Our Story

”Jesus said to His disciples, let the children come to me.  Don’t stop them!  For the Kingdom of God belongs to those that are like these children.  I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.  Then He took the children in His arms and placed His hands on their heads and blessed them.”

Mark 10:13-16

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Kingdom Classical Academy!

We are thrilled that you are being intentional about your decision to educate your children!

I’m humbled and honored to steward God’s call and vision that He placed on my heart to open a school.  Throughout the past 6 years (even more as I look back), God has continued to work in me and through me throughout this incredible journey, as every decision made has been and will continue to be prayerful and intentional.  This journey has stretched my faith, and God has continuously shown His faithfulness when the trust and control was given to Him.

Allow me to share a brief story of how Kingdom Classical Academy came to be:

When it came time to send our daughter, Olivia, off to Kindergarten, we began researching our school options and were introduced to the classical education method.  We fell in love, and knew that’s exactly what we wanted for our girls, so we enrolled Olivia in the full-time classical day-school.

During this time, in February 2018, there was a Spirit-filled second service at my home church, Christian Life Assembly, when Pastor Shane shared a message out of the book of Mark (chapter 10 – let the children come to Me).  There was a point in which Pastor Shane stopped his message and said he just felt the Holy Spirit wanted us to reach our hands out toward the kids – the entire congregation stood up, turned around, and prayed over our kids.  Then it happened, the Holy Spirit filled me – I was trembling, tears running down my face, and at the end of service, I walked down to the altar to Pastor Shane and said to him, “We’re supposed to start a school, and I’m overwhelmed with the responsibility.”  We prayed, and prayed some more…

Sending Olivia to the full-time classical day-school became a decision that we began to question, as we just didn’t have peace about it, but we really didn’t feel as though there was any other option.  Just weeks before school started that fall, my husband and I took the decision to the altar, and we decided to homeschool.  Wait, what?  We didn’t understand it then, but there was peace about doing so.

We started homeschooling under the classical education model, and we are very pleased with how much Olivia (well, all of us) grew spiritually and intellectually, as we joyfully learned new things.

That said, God was still working to fulfill his vision of starting a school, and I began to think about how wonderful it would be if we could have the best of both worlds – the best of private day-school and homeschooling combined.  My research landed on the collaborative school model that is surging across the US, with now close to 200 schools – but none here.  So, we continued to learn everything we could about this school model that every step of the way was fulfilling the desires of my heart and showing God’s faithfulness.  In April 2019 we visited 3 Christ-centered, classical, collaborative schools – all offering the same education but differed in their school culture.  We were able to witness and experience these schools in action.  We had the opportunity to see and hear the viewpoint from board members, administration, teachers, and co-teachers (parents).  The more we learned, the more we loved, and knew that this is what God envisioned for our community.

So, in the fall of 2019, we announced Kingdom Classical Academy.  The name taken straight from scripture the day God called…”Jesus said to His disciples, let the children come to me.  Don’t stop them!  For the Kingdom of God belongs to those that are like these children.  I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.  Then He took the children in His arms and placed His hands on their heads and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16

We launched in the fall of 2020, and it’s been absolutely beautiful to see God at work in the families, staff, and students, and the fruit of His strong foundation being built.  We are in this together!

If God is stirring your heart, know that we have been praying for you, and welcome the opportunity to be on this Kingdom-journey with you!

Many blessings,

Sarah Miller
